March 2016, Fishnetstockings Project will visit Åby Bibliotek in Aarhus Denmark!
Alison Aune and Joellyn Rock, visiting art educators from Minnesota, offer workshops and hands-on art activities for children and families at the Åby library in Aarhus, Denmark. FISHNETSTOCKINGS is an interactive installation and mixed-media storytelling project inspired by historical mermaid legends and fairy tales, especially Den lille havfrue by H.C. Andersen. Colorful digital projections remix folk patterns, silhouettes, paper cuts, story fragments, and experimental video. The audience can step into the underwater world and interact with mermaids, ships, and sea creatures. Participants attending the hands-on workshops at the Åby library will be able to enter their own words into the story about a little mermaid growing up… Add words to the Mermaid Story HERE
